We were approached by one of the world’s largest consumer goods company to provide a solution for sterile tank venting with challenging parameters.
Vent filtration is a critical application where incorrect sizing can result in significant damage to non vacuum rated tanks. Air demand due to CIP can make calculations for air flow requirements even more complex. A sizing exercise requires many considerations – flow rate of liquid flowing in and out of the tank, demand at peak times, CIP cycles, tank pressure and vacuum ratings and indoor or outdoor installation among many others. High temperature CIP and extremely low clean dp requirements made these applications even more challenging.
Our Filtration Solution
Siga filtration offered STERALine Vent and STERALine GT filter housings with our pharmaceutical grade STERIPleat range of sterilising grade filters (all PFA hardware for temperature resistance). These included single cartridge filters for smaller tanks and multi cartridge vent housings for larger tanks.. This solution has since been rolled out to several other tanks with great results.
