Operation

The contaminated liquid enters the filter via the inlet flange. It flows through the strainer from the inside to the outside and leaves the filter through the outlet flange. The filter is equipped with an electronic control box, which initiates and stops the flushing process. The flushing process will be activated by a timer with an adjusted time interval or by the differential pressure switch on reaching the adjusted pressure drop. The flushing valve opens and larger solid particles are flushed out, meanwhile, the filtrate flow continues. The flushing disc moves back and forth twice, driven by a pneumatic or electric stroke cylinder. The customised designed flushing disc with a special shape increases the flow speed in the existing gap between the flushing disc and the strainer inside. The high flow speed creates a local decrease of the static pressure inside the gap on the dirty side of the strainer, which releases the solid particles and discharges them through the opened flushing valve. The filtrate flow is not interrupted during the flushing process. The flushing frequency depends on the contamination of the liquid.
